WIN A copy of Britain’s Bloodiest Dynasty: The Plantagenets and Secrets Of The Castle on DVD!

14 prizes to be won!

Britain’s most notorious and bloody dynasty The Plantagenets were the inspiration for the hugely successful series Game Of Thrones and now the story of this brutal clan is skilfully brought to life in a brand new Channel 5 docu drama, presented by award-winning journalist and acclaimed historian Dan Jones. The programme shows history as never seen before, it combines scintillating story-telling from Jones, interspersed with drama reconstruction that brings to life a dramatic and visceral time in England’s history.

Britain has some of the finest castles of the medieval period but many of their secrets have been lost. In a fascinating new BBC documentary series Secrets Of The Castle, historian Ruth Goodman and archaeologists Peter Ginn and Tom Pinfold turn back time to learn the skills of the medieval castle builders as they join the largest archaeological experiment in the world. They travel to Guedelon, in the Burgundy region of France, where an ambitious project is under way to build a medieval castle from scratch using only the materials and tools available in the 13th century.

Both fascinating series are released on DVD on 26th January 2015 courtesy of RLJ Entertainment’s Acorn Label, and we have 14 each of these eye-opening documentaries to giveaway on DVD.
